November 24th 2025 update

Ginkgo Park has no updates. Wind Farm arm fell, 3 people have reported it. On November 29th Bill talked to Jenneifier from Wild Horse Wind Farm that indeed the tower had finally fallen and that the pieces were being removed. The road will remain closed until April 1st next year. Land owners have access with codes. Letter to Ginkgo Park draft by Bill, Kevin will email with edits, and will be sent out again to the Board. Deadline: ASAP within the week. Finalized the letter on November 29th and has been sent out. Sage brush planting 1,000 planted, news blurb gets connected to advertise the club. Dec. 3rd and 4th will be ready.

November 10th 2025 update

Jason Both – Wanapum/Ginkgo Head Ranger said the hold up for the CAMP was that they ran out of funding to do the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) started in 2019. PLAC encouraged him to open the Ginkgo road with the old “register system.” He stated he will send a letter to his boss. County Commissioners will also send a letter. Motion by John E.: Give Bill/Kevin $2,500 to provide financial and written support to put a camera up for the State Parks. 2nd: Bob and Motion passed unanimously. 

Possible SEASONAL/PERMANENT CLOSURE in Little Creek Parke Creek?

WDFW received funds to repair the Road out of the Skookumchuck (Morgan Shack) up to Box Canyon/Quilomene Ridge has serious damage from underground springs.

Over 100 volunteers showed up on 10/25/2025 & planted sagebrush, bitter brush, & rabbit brush at the Whiskey Dick Corals.

Ginko State Park Road is open and camping is open, there will be comment available on the draft presented

July 28th 2025 update

Fish and Wildlife: Koomers 3600 acres sell to Fish and Wildlife Department, they received a grant to purchase shrub and land for hunting. There is a possible seasonal/permanent closure in Little Park Creek. The road out of the Skookumchuck (Morgan Shack) up to Box Canyon/Quilomene Ridge has serious damage from underground springs.

June 30th 2025 update

Annual Discover Passes increase from $30 –> $45 and Day Passes from $10 –> $15 Effective October 1st, 2025 (SSB5583). DFW is considering closing Little Creek Road (water on road which proves to be a hazard) or seasonal closure with Limited Access. Pumphouse road and Cayuse will open in July 1st.

May 27th 2025 update

Pump house is continue to be worked on. DNR road; green dot $75,000 to establish access. New dot creek trail to get to Wenatchee is open and good to drive with no snow. Builder Creek Road is good to drive. Swift Creek is snowed in and not safe to drive with the current snow. 

April 28th 2025 update

Shaun Morrision – L.T.Murry/Whiskey Dick; Quilomene WLA Manager advised that the Pump House & Cayuse Roads would be closed to motored vehicles while crews are repairing damage through July 1st unless they finish early. All other areas will open on May 1st.We donated 5+ lbs of bitter brush seed that we purchase 2 years ago for the Umtaneum re-hab to WDFW.

March 31st 2025 update

Looking into helping plant in the Whiskey Dick area with pro crews, other opportunities to come. $21,000 upland bird Grant for replanting shrub after the fire. More information to come! 8.4 bitter brush donated by Kittitas Field and Stream Club. Ginko State Park; Hell’s Kitchen has a gate and camera. Most are in favor in opening the road, current standing is no one having access still. No promises given about the future. Direction of the meeting on the 24th was positive. 

March 10th 2025 update

Ginko State Park meeting had a good turn out. Commissioner, Cory Writes, is dead set on closing the road. They had no issues on going back to the permit system. No one includeing the Sharifs and WDFD since closed in 2022. Sending letters in support are due by March 24th  for comments.

February 24th 2025 update

Kittitas Ginko to Lake Easton new Ranger, Andrew, at the next meeting on Thursday the Fed. 27th we are supporting purposles going back to the fee system before 2022 sent multiple letters, so far no answers. Ben who works in the shairfs department confirming he will attend the meeting, he will talk about their concerns about theft and valdalizom per the public record there has not been any reports of this happening over the last 10 years. Reports of increase in traffic, data seems sqkud due to no Quads or Side by Side access. We have knowlegde that no maintence has ever been done on this road since 1965.

January 13th 2025 update

PLA meeting been cancelled. No updates for Ginko State Park Rd, we heard parks abandoned the CAMP (because they didn’t like the outcome) & are going straight to SEPA. WDFW needs money to buy bitter brush plants at $2.40 each from Derby Canyon for the Whiskey Dick WLA. We’d also like to give them the 5+lbs of bitter brush seed) that may or not or good) that we purchased 2 years ago for the Umtaneum re-hab.
